Because of the first sin that occurred thousands of years ago (Genesis 3:1-6), the result of it fell upon all men (Romans 5:12). We ALL became sinners. Sin separates people from God. Without God there is no hope of Heaven, no inner peace and no lasting joy. Jesus restores our relationship with God.
Because of God's love for us, He made the way for us to be brought out of the bondage of sin and restores us to Himself. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our place on the cross, to die for our sins. Jesus died and was resurrected for us so that through Him we can be forgiven, cleansed from sin and restored to a right relationship with God.
Because Jesus died for us on the Cross, He is the only way to God and to Heaven. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me." (John 14:6) Through Jesus Christ we are saved from sin and hell.
Being saved does not depend on your strength or willpower. It depends on your desire to belong to God and on your accepting God's way of salvation, which is Jesus Christ.
PRAYER: If you want to be saved from sin and have God in your life, it is as simple as this prayer.
Sincerely pray; "Heavenly Father, I know I'm a sinner - please forgive me. I accept your Son, Jesus Christ, as my Savior, because He died for me and was raised from the dead so that He can live in me. I believe I am saved by Your grace through my faith in Jesus. Jesus, come into my heart and be Lord of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
If you sincerely prayed this prayer, Jesus has come into your heart, and you are now a child of God. BELIEVE IT!!!
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: Now, through prayer and studying the Bible, allow the Lord to help you grow in His grace and knowledge, and to help you become a vessel through which God's peace, compassion, kindness and forgiveness can flow. It would be good for you to find a good, Bible teaching Church to faithfully worship and work with. Also tell others about Christ's love for them so they too may know Him.
Don't become discouraged if you stumble or because you are not perfect, remember if you have received Jesus as Savior, God's Grace is sufficient. Keep relying on His love and grace (Jesus is your Savior) and just continue doing the best you can.
